Aer Lingus are proud sponsors of the Irish rugby team, but they wanted to be seen as more, they wanted to be seen as supporters. During the 6 Nations the team need all the support they can get, especially when playing away from home. So who better to add more support than the very airline who flies supporters to those games.
Using our knowledge as an airline and our passion as fans, we created two unique messages of support leading up to their biggest away clash - against England, in Twickenham, on St Patrick’s Day.
‘TIPS FROM THE BAGMAN’
For those lucky enough to have tickets to the game in England, we enlisted the help of Ireland’s most iconic bagman, to give some helpful travel tips.
FLIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
On the morning of the game we took over flight EI 172 and stowed away an Ireland jersey under every seat. An extra splash of green to help the team over the line.
By the time fans were making their way to the stadium for kick-off, we had already generated huge amount of buzz and extra support online.
